Hello NESBA members! I'm a new forum member from Lafayette, IN, considering heading out to one of the "Intro" days sometime here fairly soon. I ride a 1981 yamaha XJ750 SECA that I just finished up with a full frame-off rebuild, and am now very much wanting to get into track riding.

I'm exceedingly nervous about it .... I've never been on any form of track except drag racing cars, and have literally zero experience with actually riding my bike "hard."

So, hello to all, and any tips for a newbie who's rather scared to actually get out there and twist that right grip? =)

Hey welcome, you're just like me 10 years ago! Except for the bike and drag racing anyway.

Just come with an open mind and remember to have fun!

Welcome switch263! There is an awesome track that is one of my favorite tracks for beginners very near you. You should sign up for the Intro Session for Putnam Park coming up May 2nd. It is fast and wide, and a very flowing track. PERFECT environment for your first time on the track.

Look me up, feel free to pit with me or someone that you know. We have lots of first timers almost every track day, so no worries. Read the stuff below and you should be well on your way to having a stress free first day.

Start here: http://www.nesba.com/Info/Typical.htm
Read the NESBA riders manual: http://www.nesba.com/Info/Forms.htm
Keep in touch here: http://tracktalk.nesba.com/forumdisplay.php?f=8
Then end here: http://www.apexjunkie.com for some additional tips

Looking forward to riding with ya at Putnam!

Can anyone clarify for me what all gear I need for one of these intro sessions? I'm gonna have to get new tires before I can go, and I honestly don't know if thats in the budget soon enough to make the may 2 date :(
