Seat Foam

Has anyone ordered sheets of foam from McMaster to be used for a seat? The foam thats on my bike is like sitting on a cinder block.

just keep in mind, though McMaster appears to be a cheaper options, often, cutting that stuff will be a pain
it will tear and what not.

I'd rather go for Woodcraft or HT moto pre-cut stuff

I go to a local place called Foam to Size. They even sell chunks of the gel stuff.

Thanks. I order stuff through mcmaster on a daily basis through work. Just ordered some foam, and I'll see what happens when I try to cut it.

John, I had fairly good results cutting/sculpting the foam with a REALLY sharp smooth edge carving knife. If you can get a hot wire thingamajig, that's the best.

Off topic a bit but what's a good glue to hold it down with? I got one trying to come up at the edges. It was on the tail when I bought it so not sure what previous owner used.

For what it's worth, use an electric knife. I got mine at K-mart for ~$9. Works a treat on foam.

I recently replaced my seat pad. I went with the Woodcraft. I am happy with it so far
