Zippers....Nylon vs Metal

I would say metal. Zippers like stitched seams will endure large amounts of force. Imagine you high0-side and land on your for arm at 80 mph. The material with all that weight and force hitting the ground will have tons of friction / traction on the asphault. But weight is fighting to drag it down track. Thats when I'd think they'd be most likely to fail. There are some very important veins and arteries in the wrists and forearms. The skin is soft there. It won't take much open skin to do some real damage.

I'd rather have people complain about stuck zippers....than have them bust open during a crash - so all metal it is!
Good to hear. It's moot now, I guess, but my own impression is that the nylon coil zippers probably don't have the crosswise strength that you'd want for something like that. Hard to call, though. I don't know what exactly the ASME spec for leather suits says (if indeed there is such a thing).
