Access to the old Tech forum

So... how long is the old site going to be around and is there any chance of migrating the old tech posts to the new site?

Just a lot of info on the old tech forum that would be a shame to lose.

All I can say at this point is that there's no way to migrate the posts - the old forum is just too old to work with any current software importer.

how are the posts stored, in a formatted text file?

how does this version store the data?

a "software importer", whatever that is, may not work, but I'm betting the data can be retrieved and re-imported..what you need is an old school programmer/developer to take care of this for ya....anything can be reverse engineered so to speak

how big are the files from the old forum? send 'em my way and I'll look at it if you want..

but if it's just a matter of the consensus thinking it's not worth getting into, I understand that as well...

It would be a real shame to loose all of that corprorate knowledge.

If nothing else, can it be kept as a searchable entity? Although I suppose there will be a robust tech section here soon enough...
