Bridgestone tires

The email about Bridgestone tires says: “Bridgestone will be the “Official Tire Brand of N2 Track Days” with exclusive tire distribution at all N2 Track Day events.”

Does that mean there will not be vendors selling Dunlops or Pirelli?

Some of the tire guys sold Bridgestones and other brands. Will they only be selling Bridgestone at N2 days now?

Only Bridgestone's will be sold at our events. Our tire vendor at the event will mount and balance any brand for a fee. I am awaiting more clarification about the specifics.

This will be a massive inconvenience if so.

Do you know who the vendors are going to be?

Wow- that’s pretty disappointing. I realize there are economics involved in these decisions, but I would suspect most guys are pretty loyal to a brand of tire that they know and trust.

OK, kids - that wraps up today’s history lesson on what led up to the Pirelli mafia and black market on the East Coast of America.

And don’t forget to read Chapters 1-3 to help kick off next week’s lesson on “The Dunlop Debacle”.

Some years ago I asked a Control Rider, and a good friend of mine, what tires he preferred. The question was inspired by watching him at an endurance race using a brand of tire I’d not seen him run before.

His answer: Round and Black

You’ll all be fine.

N2 has taken the time and put forth the effort to seek out a vendor to provide round and black things for you to use at events at hopefully a more than competitive price. Say thanks.

OR bring your preferred brand and pay the tire guy that’s taking his day to come out and provide you all support. He’s still going to provide that service on site for less than any shop. Say thanks.

Cool story. If you want to give tire advice, post some lap times. Are you the Darrin on MyLaps doing 24s on a R1 at Nelsons? That would explain things.

I am not sure if you are completely aware of the Pirelli and/or Dunlop incident. There is no Black market in the East Coast.

For everyone, we will be at all the events, Pirelli will be available in the Southeast region, message/email me for preorders.

Hey, folks - my comment above was meant to be humorous. In no way did I intend any slight towards Pirelli, the Pit Lane Moto team or N2 and Bridgestone for that matter.

Yes….and I did it with a WHOLE lot of blood clots in my lungs….30 days after that race I was in the ICU with my second round of embolisms. I was just holding on…I wanted to race one weekend with my son….it was his first weekend on a full size bike…it was Father’s Day weekend. But you’re cooler than I am…so I’ll defer to your greatness.

Just because you or your friend don’t have a preference doesn’t mean others don’t. Personally, I like freedom of choice. An agreement like this reduces my available choice. Consider it an observation that this agreement provides me less freedom and flexibility than Quentin did.

It sounds like Tim might have got the exclusive part wrong since Zeb is selling Pirellis. Hopefully it will be BS at all the events plus whatever else the tire guys have.

I will offer three comments
1. Be nice. At no point in time did Black and Round ever insult any of your tire preferences

2. Be careful on wording. I don’t know the specifics, but Pre-order is not sold on site. Just pointing that out to avoid any potential confusion/frustration at the event.

3. I’ve ridden them all and crashed them as well at one point in time or another. They all have their pros and cons. Try them and make a decision. Until then you have no data or preference for something you don’t know. If you don’t want to try something new you don’t have to buy anything on site.

Stop derailing the thread, it's not about me it's about round black things! ;)
BTW, I wish, everyone is asking arm and leg for beat up shit. Should have kept mine...
