Yeah, I spoke with a person who knows about tracks and he lives near Dominion. Current configuration is unsafe for motorcycles. Maybe it can be fixed - I hope so.

This one says it all....The Dominion guy said
Dominion Raceway in Spotsylvania Virginia The motorcycles out here today had no complaints. See the pics...

When do we get some video of the track and when do we get some actual N2 people there.....

All I can say is that Dominion had better invest in a SHLOAD of air fence......

Those bike riders are from TPM and they canceled there track day, so Dominion is fibbing a little.

That was the old one that was posted back in December.....I want something new with all the barriers up.....and such.....something that looks at the run of of every corner....and such....

Look at 1:24 through the video. That's one part that jumped out at me when I first watched it. Doesn't matter what barriers you put there.

I know there is a jump into a pond.... you come out from under the bridge and there is a cliff.....and so on....this is why I would like to see a detailed video of each corners run off....

Because everything that we have seen so far just looks scary....

I stopped by the track yesterday on my way back from running errands in Fredericksburg. A couple of guys on bikes were there, as well as a couple of cars. The surface looked awesome. The spot coming under the bridge didn't look bad running CCW, but I'm not sure it'd be a good idea to run the track CW. The run through the bridge has an uphill run-off area, so not worried about going into the trees there. Additionally, the corner prior exits in a kink, so it should keep speeds lower through there. The bike guys did indicate that there's one corner on the backside from the mainstraight (didn't get the specifics) which will require running the 'safe line' instead of the 'fast line' (my interpretation). I get the feeling there's somewhere with concrete barricades that just flat-out shouldn't be there, a-la Suzuka. But, they mentioned they aren't allowed to post full-lap video yet, which makes me hopeful that the Dominion guys will pull their head out and fix any safety issues. It looks like they're making good progress from the time the videos were shot, but I wouldn't hold an event there next weekend either. There should be enough time before the trackday I signed up for in August, but with things like this one never quite knows.

Just looked back up the thread and realized those pictures were from yesterday... Yes, those were the guys, and yes, Dominion is fibbing a little. The riders didn't seem overly concerned about the track itself, but there was that one spot they mentioned. If I were an organizer, I wouldn't run a trackday there right now, but that's because of the off-track state of prep, not the track itself. Again, they're not allowing them to post full-lap video yet, which I'd chalk up to "Let us work out any issues before we go live". Just my $.02.

Sorry Everyone, we should have posted up before but N2 Staff have been to the track several times during construction. The safety concerns are real and in its current condition, not safe for bikes. The area that you can see from the entrance is of little concern. The track is designed to run CCW so the bridge isn't much of an issue compared to the far end of the track. The reason there are concrete barriers in place now is that after a short runoff, there is a 20' steep drop down to the woods below. We walked every inch of the track and have had scouts stopping in frequently to give us updates. Keep in mind that some clubs may still decide to run a motorcycle event there because many people are looking forward to this prime location. However, N2 Trackdays will never look past the safety of our members for the sake of making a buck. It's just not worth the risk involved.

Probably a rhetorical question at this point, however I see that the Dominion days 6/4-5 have been removed from the schedule. I guess this means the weekend has officially been cancelled?

Correct, no Dominion this year. Maybe not ever unless they address the issues that the directors have been talking about.

As a Challenger owner myself, I am ashamed at what a wuss that guy was in a HellCat! My little R/T would be put that guy to shame. How about the light post 10 feet off the track directly in front of you at the 1:54 mark? Don't mess up your braking going into that corner or you might T-Bone a light post! What a shame, this track is so close to me it hurts that they couldn't make it friendly to bikes or cars for that matter.
