Tech Q re wear bar

howdy all!
I have Q5S rear and the right side is exactly at the wear bar (see pics if helpful: https://photos.app.goo.gl/S7GkwUjUszJ9Q7Dt8). I’ve ridden the last three days at my local track (Thunderbolt at NJMP) which is very right turn heavy, including for acceleration (though I should be a tad more tire preserving on that), and am curious if being right at the wear bar would fail tech? Tires still OK overall (actually I’ve gotten 6 track days out of them which to me is good for a Q5S especially on a 1200…most of that in Novice (and Intermediate at my local club…I run, for whatever it’s worth, 1:40-:42 at NJMP Thunderbolt).

if this is one of those forum questions where experienced riders are like…ugh, another question using at best pics instead of asking someone at the track in person, then do let me know! I’ll ask at the track. I’m asking this to really see if I should replace prior to going to track day or not.
Thanks!
Laz

If it's dry flip it, and wear out the opposite side, if it's wet I would run it at a slow comfortable pace and not push as you'll be losing water syphoning ability with the shallower tread.

From one of my ooooold posts:

You may have seen prior posts from me on the same topic. With a tire worn like that, you have two reductions in grip. One is shape, as you will have a high and narrow spot on each side (left and right) of that worn area. The other is that the rubber is very thin and the tire will hold much less heat, reducing grip.

You may have also heard me say that these things are also great teachers for managing grip, but I wouldn't go out on that and expect "like new" grip just because there is rubber there instead of cords.

If you flip it to be the less used side at your next track...it will maintain even less heat.

Wow. Thank you both! Truly helpful and informative. Going to likely then swap on the new tires i have and not squeeze another day out of these... Better safe than sorry. I do note with that, that Dunlop says what tdelegram noted: Q5S rear can be flipped if running in dry. Front cannot be flipped.

Good call because if your thinking about it, change it. It's not what you should be thinking about on the track. Also I used to ski and we never did "one last run" (same as "squeeze another day out of these") just because it typically ended with bumps, bruises and a yard sale of equipment.

Agreed... "One last" usually doesn't work out in many things!
