The MotoGP Thread

A much needed change, and I think Simon will take on the new role with the seriousness it deserves. Here’s hoping he can turn around the impressions the riders currently have of the stewards!

Hopefully he can guide the tire pressure rules to a more compatible situation. It’s in a racer’s best interest to manage his pressures for optimized performance. Nobody wants to go into a corner with an ice skate up front or try to get out of a corner on a marshmallow rear.

Agreed. I also think another focus needs to be consistency. I accept that many (if not all) incidents are unique, but there needs to be some sort of playbook to base/guide decisions on.

I wish Michelin would give a clearer explanation/demonstration of the dangers of low tire pressures. I think if people could see what exactly the danger is there would be less heartburn around it. I mean in all the years Michelin has been the tire provider I haven't heard of a failure due to low pressure. And it's been low for years.

The above article states ‘multi-year’ contract a couple of times. Gigi Dall’igna confirmed (great interview, BTW) that means five years.
