Would you trust this guy?

ridelater@yahoo.com (Pat Ryan) has indicated that he wants to buy my bike. Problem for me is he wants me to take all the risk. I have a convenient location to make the sale but it requires me to load up the bike and spares and haul them 3 hours to Hagerstown, MD. I'd leave them there and my son would complete the sale. I want a deposit to make sure he shows up (I've had too many no shows on things like this and don't want another). He is unwilling to do so. I really need the money. He's worried about the motor. I have a problem trusting someone that doesn't trust me. I've told him that if he is unhappy with the motor I'll refund the deposit.

Would any of you do this deal without a deposit?

Thanks,

Ron Madurski

You have to drive 3 hours to sell a bike? How far is he driving? Also, a deposit doesn't seem unreasonable. If I was buying a bike and I was serious, I wouldn't disagree to a deposit.

The Ryan bros. are good guys. I have done deals with them and also ridden on the track with them. They are long time NESBA members.
