Pitt Race gates open/close times?

From what I have gathered on the forum, Pitt Race gate times are:
Opening at 6pm the evening before the event
Gates do not close as they are manned 24/7 (or at least they don't close even if unmanned)

I'm trying to arrange a friend who may be joining me for the event in June and he'd have to fly into Pittsburgh late the evening before the event

They are open 24 hours starting usually at 6:00 pm for members unless there's a Friday private track rental, that can push everything an hour or more back.
