Post Gingerman

Ah yes, the battle of Gingerman. Weather was perfect, couldn't ask for any better, open track Sunday afternoon was awesome, was great to see everyone that came out. Had a good time camping with the granddaughter. Now she wants to enter some Bass Pro Tournaments when she gets bigger, she really had a good time at the pond.

There must have been some bad energy in the northern part of the pits as the attrition rate was pretty high. It looks like Turn One will be busy for a while as it looks like they picked up a good amount of work this weekend. I'm glad I was in the south pits. Seriously though I hope everyone that went down is ok and I wish them all a speedy recovery. Ferra should just swear off Gingerman for good, LOL.

James, Thanks for posting the video. How did the new forks work for you? It looks like you are getting the hang of the zx10.

Cody, Congrats on the bump and welcome to I. You look real good and smooth all day. Congrats on your daughters soccer game.

See everyone at BHF.

It was to bad the turnout was so low, although I did enjoy the open track time we got on Sunday. I rode myself out of tires and gas :) Im glad i finally made the trek out there cause it is an awesome track with a great layout. I had fun riding with everyone at the track. Hopefully we get to go back next year.

Well, at least Steve got more than .9 laps in!

Sorry about the lost time Saturday morning, and thanks to all who helped me get taken care of and packed up. Yep, it was my turn to be 'that guy'

Heal up Danch. That avitar looks really familiar to me. Are you getting the cyborg starter kit? And .9 laps, really? That makes my 1.5 laps at Grattan look like a endurance race. LOL :banghead:

The new forks are working great and after Turnone adjusted the suspension it worked even better. It's still a big jump from a 600 to 1000 and from carburetors to fuel injection. The throttle control is a lot touchier and takes getting use to. But I'm getting there. Looking forward to HPT.

Definitely a great time! Thanks to chris for helping me figure out some new lines in a few of the turns I was having trouble with. u really gotta slow down to go fast in some parts out there, but I'm absolutely in love with the layout now. turn 6 is probably one of my favorite turns at just about any track i've ever been to (in my brief, 3 track riding career). if anyone would be interested, I really want to figure out a date some time later in the year where a bunch of us nesbians can go and crash one of the STT events as long as it's not conflicting with another one of ours. :wow::saythat: (that's how much i love this place!)

i'll let greg post up when he knows more about his injury, but the xrays didn't show any breaks in his hand. he'll be finding out whether or not his tendons need surgery when he visits a specialist shortly. otherwise, he was in good spirits and is itching to get out on the track again asap

Andrei, Talk about smooth, every time I see you out on the track you get better, smoother, and faster. It was good seeing you and I look forward to riding with you at BHF.

There is always room for improvement. I started the weekend in bad shape. To put in in simple terms, I sucked. But just like they cover in your first day in B, pick one thing and work on it. Saturday, Chris Fry was gracious enough to tow me around for some laps to show me some new lines where I was having trouble. Then with my schooling behind me on Sunday I set out to run consistent times over and extended time. I had a blast. Still don't care for the track but had a good time non the less.

Jesse was haulin the mail and looking real good. Between him and Duane I'm not sure which one got the high mileage award. Both seemed like they were out there all day. And both escaped the curse of the north pit syndrome.

haha thanks it's also not bad when u get to slap on a brand new set of pirellis... they should consider that cheating! i wish we could have spent more time in the afternoon together, but i really enjoyed our little "2 in front, 2 in the back" session (damn, that just sounded horrible haha). i look forward riding with u in the future, bud.

.
Thanks Steve :)

I actually like "fast". inconsistency and lack of smoothness is always about the same dilemma - shall I go fast this way or shall I go fast the other way. Well, that often ends up somewhere in between - and I'm on my head again :)

I was talking to my wife at home abt. grandfather control rider and "yellow' bike ( Jesse ) passing me at speed between 2 and 3. Nice riding guys.

What a great day Sunday was!!!!!! I want to thank everyone who helped me, especially CR Steve for all the on track help and to Marshall for coming to find me in the paddock and working on my body postioning. I feel I improved alot just from these tips. Spectating with Marshall was about as much fun as you can have off a bike at any TD.

Thanks to George and Sandy for feeding me Saturday night and thanks to Duane and Steve B for helping me load up Sunday morning. Sorry I couldn't help Dan, the other walking wounded from the north pit.

Funny story on the way home. I stop to get gas and go in to grab a cup of coffee and more advil. As I'm hobbling back to my truck like some 90 year old man at .002 mph this good old boy in a pick-up rolls up to the pumps. He hops out, takes one look at me and says "Buddy that's going to take something stronger than advil". :D I guess I was looking pretty good.

I would have laughed if it hadn't hurt so much to do so.

It was worth all 650 miles I traveled to get on the track this weekend. Thanks to all the CR's who chased me around and let me chase them around, it was a blast and I picked up some good techniques from you all. Turn One guys did an awesome job on my suspension. Best track day to date, I think I'm spoiled. On to Thunderbolt Monday!
