    PITT june 14/15 bad weather

Even some hypersport street tires like the Bridgestone S23 will work pretty well unless there is standing water, and when it dries out, you don't have to change back to something else. But yeah, unless you have an elite membership, you can't cancel this close and get any credit/refund. Page 5...

New to the Track, Not New to bikes.. Looking for Recommendations

I'll be there for the July and August events. Hope to see you there! Riding on the track is addicting and you'll learn a lot more than you would just riding on it street. Everyone is super helpful. The Control Riders are there to help!

New to the Track, Not New to bikes.. Looking for Recommendations

By standard, I meant what we used to call "UJMs". A naked upright bike that's still fun on the track, but easier on your back if you're also going to ride it on the street. Something like a Yamaha MT09 or MT07. Agree with Dominick re: displacement. Those minigp young kids on their Moriwakis...

New to the Track, Not New to bikes.. Looking for Recommendations

You'll see all types in all groups. I personally would steer away from a 1000 when starting out track riding. A 600 would be fine. Do you have a bike to use now? Hell, I don't want a 1000 now, happy with my R6. LOL. If you have a bike, bring it for now. If you're looking to buy a dedicated...

Flipping slicks to even the wear - but not Bridgestone?

^^^^^^ this None of them will recommend flipping, Pirelli included. I've flipped Pirelli slicks and DOT races with fine results. Never the front, however.

    new old guy

Also, if you want some online instruction prior, the Yamaha Champions Riding School has a series of courses called ChampU. There is one specific to track riding, and another that is their core curriculum. The code N2ROCKS will get you a 20% discount. Of course, their in-person instruction is...

First Track Day @ Summit (4/28)

Glad your first day went well! ATP is an excellent choice for addtional instruction! Nope, don't need a new set of tires for each track day. As long as there is about 50% tread left, you're fine. For coaching, a set of hypersport street tires will last me a season, not sure how many days that...

NC Bike Track Day Tire Service

yup, that's the fear, it either vibrates loose, or wasn't properly torqued and falls out. Then oil dumps and it takes hours for clean up, depending on if the rider notices and gets off the track and/or is black flagged quickly.

NC Bike Track Day Tire Service

I think the concern is more about the drain plug coming loose and falling out, rather than something hitting it. I guess it would depend on the location of the drain plug. Some of my bikes have them coming out the side, some the bottom...

    Summit - Race School 4/28

When you signed up, did you select the highlighted below: If so, you should be fine. The race school is a separate charge on top of the track day. It's not sold out, you have to be in intermediate or advanced to sign up for that. Are you the Daniel signed up, bike 211, member number #82631? If...

    Snell rating on helmets.

If you're asking if it'll pass tech, yes. Assuming of course, there is no crash damage. We don't check, but it's good to replace your helmet every 5 years from date of manufacture. Welcome! Also, moving from classified section to paddock section

    Greetings

yeah, just buying gas at the track is easier if you ride to the track, it's just expensive. But better than trying to carry a gas can on your bike, lol. I think the gas stations are at least 20 mins away... I'll likely be a Summit a bunch this year.
