ATP is a great way to get into the sport without the cost of YCRS. YCRS is phenomenal but I would not worry about saving up for a bike, gear, school, etc. before you sign up for a day. Come out to a day at PittRace and look at what bikes are there. We have free admission for spectators.

Ya'll are kidding yourselves if you think brand x or brand y has anything physically to do with your lap times. 95% of us (myself included) don't ride any brand tire to its full potential.
I would also suggest that part of our learning should include riding on different tires whenever...

Best advice I can give is to find out who the Captain of your group is and have a chat. Introduce yourself, mention that you have ridden with multiple organizations and are looking for some feedback on your riding. I would not even mention that you are in any particular group with another...
Email Support. They monitor that email all the time.
You do not need to be a member to ride with us. You just need to set up a "Guest" account at a minimum so we have some basic contact information. If you would like to join as a member (Basic or Elite) you would get better pricing for...
The "Q" tires from Dunlop are very good. YCRS uses them on many of their student bikes and perform excellent. We will have a Dunlop vendor at all of our events to purchase tires from. They will have the full lineup from Q3's to slicks at great prices. They even mount and balance them for you.
Don't worry about being the 1st timer putzing around. Literally EVERY SINGLE person started out just like you. I remember my first time riding track in the rain. It was unsettling as you described. However lap after lap the confidence increased and I learned that you can have a lot of fun...
