not that it matters to me, but I like trivia stuff like this.

I was reading that the new (for 2001) GSXR 600 used the 750's frame. So they were sharing in 2001 - but by 2003, did the 750 have a new frame?

different web sites are telling me different things, but I think it was

2001: shared frame
2002: 750 gets updated frame, and 600 continues using 'old' 750 frame
2003: (same as 2002)
2004: I KNOW the 600 got a new frame all its own - did the 750 as well?

again, this doesn't really mean anything to me, because i don't own one, but I was shopping the '03/'04 600's, and the differences there are clear, but not which year 750's might share with them.

it is my admittedly limited understanding the 04/05 600 and 750 are the same bike with different engines. if there are differences they are too subtle for me to see.
rk can you tell me what the differences you have noticed are?

Well the only thing I know for sure is that the starter electronics are not the same.

I have push-started PJ's 600 with a 750 starter too many times to believe they're interchangeable!

Everything else may well be the same. I wasn't trying to make any assertions. Really asking questions.

My questions were out of curiosity too. I have worked on both the 600 and the 750 and have always assumed the chassis on both bikes were interchangeable.

Although many parts are identical between the '04-'05 GSXR 600 and the 750, the part numbers on the swingarm assemblies are different.

At least one of the bearings at the pivot shaft are different sizes on the 600 vs. the 750, although almost all of the other parts are the same.
