09 r6 middle headlight

Does anyone know if the little headlight in the middle is supposed to work on the 09 and newer R6 models? I just got one and the dealership is telling me that it only works on the European models. Not sure if I believe that.

It definitely is not supposed to work. I have an 08 and have seen countless other 08+ R6's, none of them have that as a functional light.
