Carolina Motorsports Park first timer questions???

Hello!
I finally got vacation days to be able to ride at CMP this weekend for the first time, can't wait!
I've never been to to the track not familiar with the amenities.
Are pop up canopies allowed?
Are there spots close to the pits to tent camp?
How's camping there? Is it a battle with biting insects all the time?
Thanks in advance

Welcome. Folks who camp can answer most of your questions. Canopies are welcome and your setup should be on the grass, not the pavement so that emergency crews can get around. They also have garages for rent. I can tell you that CMP is built on sand and most of the ants in the world live there. :)

Be sure to come by and say hello!

Pop up canopies are allowed and you can put your tent up in the pits
It's very sandy and the bugs come out at dusk. There are showers available. The concession stand is open for breakfast and lunch. There are fuel pumps at the track that work with a credit card.
Renting a bay in the garage area makes life so much easier. Shade, no sand, and power.
Have fun!

Yep! Please weigh yours down so it doesn't go flying in a gust of wind.
Are there spots close to the pits to tent camp?
Yep! Have a look at the map here (https://carolinamotorsportspark.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/paddockmap_2023-1.png)
All the spots without numbers are spots you can setup. If you need power, you'll need to sign up and pay with CMP.

We have ants... lots of ants... So if you're camping on the ground, plan for that. Some spots are worse than others.
I haven't ever been bitten by them while sitting in my paddock, but still plan on something to combat ANTS...

Welcome to the sport!
I'm excited for you.
If you look at that paddock map I linked above, I'll be in spot 18 for the weekend. Come say hello!

The ants can be brutal so plan accordingly. If you can share a garage spot with someone it helps in many ways, from shade, to lights, to power. Pop ups, as stated, are not an issue, but if you plan on asking in the grass having a 2x8 piece of plywood helps with stands. There are a couple showers that are accessible and a couple bathroom locations. It is a fun track so long as you stay on the gray stuff and out of the trees!

Hello!
Finally got a chance to get back on here, and pardon the redneck French but it was Fnawesum!!
That is my new favorite crack rock ha!
I didn't know what to expect tbh, (even though I'd been there years ago and had forgotten it) as it's way different than the tracks I've rode recently. .
I managed to reverse inhale my leathers during the first session, and wasn't comfortable with the crowd. I riode way too tense. Squid missiles scare me in that way
I got calmed down got behind B rad doc and couple the other control riders over next couple sessions away from the gang and started relaxing and actually enjoyed it tremendously.
The evening sessions without a doubt I was grinning in my helmet more than any one out there. My own personal roller coaster ride.
The facilties are really nice,
and camping was bout perfect.
Was Blessed on this one for sure.
I can't wait to come back there and ride with the N2CREW again.
Big thanks to all the CRs, BRad, Will, Doc, and especially the sweet lady CR I followed.

Anyone that is a first timer there and ask about tent camping, go for it.
Lot better than any of the hotels within the area.

Sounds like Heidi. She's frackin' fast and smooth!

Really glad that you had a good time.
Yes sir Heidi is it.
Just flowed through the corners.
Would love to get to be half as smooth around the track!
Next time there, I want to really concentrate on that and body positioning.
