During These Tough Times......

Yeah .... So we had to cancel the Midwest season this year.

In my mind that changes nothing with regard to the many friends I have here at NESBA
In the MidWest or back East at NESBA central.

So I am just going to keep on treating people like friends and with due respect and try to
Help the club through these tough times with the hope that despite not riding this year we
All stay tight and have a great schedule for next year.

This is tough on evryoneinvolved, no need to make it harder.

yes.. the schedule is empty, our friendships and family-like atmosphere did not.

it sucks we won't have our own events to attend, but it doesn't mean that will keep us away from each other, i've met alot of great ppl through Nesba and that i love. 2013 will be something i'll remain hopeful for.

Hopefully this isn't too negative, but, well, I am sure the pathetic number of trackdays offered in the midwest *can't* have had anything to do with the loss. When I first started doing trackdays, Illinois Riders had the option of Joliet, Rockford, Putnam and IIRC even STL. Then it was Joliet, Rockford and Putnam, then it was Rockford and Putnam, then last year it was only Rockford. [yes, I know I am over simplifying, but you all understand my point.] Doesent take a MBA to figure out that attendance was going to go down....:banghead:

I guess I can be glad that I had procrastinated and had not re-upped yet so I don't have to holler about a refund...

And Yes, I will continue to be "that friend" to all you guys, you know, the one that you barely remember his real name but would still shake his hand if you met him IRL...

It does not take a MBA to to figure out that whoever told you that attendance was low had lied to you.

Oooh, BURN. Wow, you are RIGHT. Attendance and Track choices in the midwest must be up, and increasing by the minute... Let me go right out and sign up for some midwest track days right now...

Ok, that's fair, I should have specified NESBA track days. My point was that when I started with NESBA, they had more track days at different tracks than they have had more recently. Less tracks = less variety, and [my perception] fewer overall opportunities. When I started there were 3-4 tracks I could ride at, then there was two, then one then none, then the whole schedule was kaput.

Just look at the Gron4 website and draw your own conclusion. If you have time you can even count the number of bikes at each of the Nesba events.
This is what I have counted:

RA May 8, 2011

A group 41
I group 35
B group 34

BHF May 30/31, 2011

A group 57
I group 55
B group 70

BHF June 12/13, 2011

A group 64
I group 54
B group 56

BHF July 2/3, 2011

A group 64
I group 74
B group 63

BHF August 3-5, 2011

A group 64
I group 61
B group 55

RA August 25/26, 2011

A group 56
I group 62
B group 44

BHF September 3-5, 2011

A group 64
I group 61
B group 55

By no means is this a scientific count, just a reference point.

I don't really know what a full grid would be but that looks like a pretty good turnout avg. about 170 riders ! I don't remember the pricing but at 200 a weekend thats $34,000 and I know a TD weekend cost more than that ! I dont think the tracks cost that much for a weekend but I could be wrong but I doubt it , I think someone higher up just wanted to flush us down the toilet cause it does'nt look like it was really about us losing money !!!!!!!!

What I am talking about is the number of events and the variety of tracks. Check out this link:
http://web.archive.org/web/20090305140527/http://www.nesba.com/Info/TrackEvents.htm

Then look at this:
http://web.archive.org/web/20100125144647/http://www.nesba.com/Info/TrackEvents.htm?

Then look at this:
http://web.archive.org/web/20110714164600/http://www.nesba.com/Info/TrackEvents.htm

...and then look at our [lack of] schedule now. What you may notice is there used to be alot more days, and alot more variety of tracks, even 3 years ago, than there were at later dates. [forgive me, I think I got them in the right order]
