How important is the Power Commander if...?

I want to put a K&N air filter in my 2004 Suzuki GSX-R600, but don't wanna drop the $$ to have it re-dyno'd. Lord only knows why the idiot didn't already put one in there. Currently I have the full race exhaust and commander is all thats done for power.

So how bad will it hurt me to replace the stock air fliter with the K&N and not hit the dyno?

You should be OK.

FYI, Stock filters perform pretty good. K&N have not proven to be of any real help with my Honda. I can't say for you bike but I'm just sayin'

I have an 01 GSXR-600 with a full M4 system, PC and stock filter. Runs great. Actually PC did not have a map for a full M4 and a K&N. There was a K&N filter in the bike when I bought it and I took it out and put a stock filter in when I saw PC did not have a map.

YMMV

Map should be fine with K&N or BMC filter. Main benefit with K&N and BMC is that they are cleanable/ reusable. $55 or so for K&N/ BMC once, or $35+ each time for OEM filter.....:dunno:
