One last questions from this newbie..about tires

I appreciate all the information everyone has given me, but i have one last question. Do i need to install new tires before a track day? I have about 1200 miles on my tires now and i usually get about 3500 out of a pair. Will this be enough tread to get through a track day? Will i burn up a new set on track day? I am trying to get a feel on how much rubber i need to be prepared to go through. I don't plan on pushing it hard at all being my first time on the track.

What kind of tires? I get 5-7 trackdays, sometimes more, out of a set of Diablo Corsa IIIs. At a B pace, I would think you'd get at least that many days from any comparable tire (Pilot Powers, Bridgestone BT016, 002R/S, etc.)
As long as you have about 85% tread left, and they aren't squared off from street riding, they should be ok. How old are they?
