Pirelli announces contingency

I obviously get that the contingency is paid to winners who use their products, but how does it work? Do you have to register with them or is it anyone who can prove they ran their product in a race?

Yeah thats exactly how it works, you register with Pirelli at the beginning of the year. Mainly to get a SS#, so if you go over $600, they can send you a 1099. This year is a bit better than last year, Pirelli is using a better system to payout quicker, I think its called XTRM. In addition to putting Pirelli in your list of sponsors, you have to have the correct Pirelli stickers in the right spots. One on each fairing and one on each side of the front fender (I think). Then after every race you have to post your results with Pirelli. Then you get da money.
