'99 SV650 superbike for sale. It's the real deal: it makes 85hp at the wheel. This is a track bike, it is not street legal. I have a clean title in hand, in my name.

I bought it in '05 to do track days. I've done maybe 20 track days on it. It's a former WERA race bike. It's very fast, visceral and fun to ride. I'm just not finding time to do track days and this is not a street bike.

I've always used full synthetic oil, usually Mobil 1.

Sharkskinz, GP Tech fairing bracket, forks by Race-Tech, Penske shock, Woodcraft clip-ons and rearsets, DID chain on 520 conversion with Sprocket Specialists Hard anodized Titan sprocket, Scotts steering damper on tank spacers with digital water temp gauge. GMD computrack set up forks.

Superbike engine makes 85 hp on multiple dynos, I have the printouts, and has the following mods: lightened and balanced crank, JE 12.5:1 83mm pistons (2nd over), heads are ported, new valves with 5 angle valve job, Yoshimura cams (degreed), Large Keihin flat slides, and HFM full Ti exhaust.

The previous owner was a WERA racer, here are his comments:
This motor rocks. It actually pulls harder if its short shifted a little bit. I meticulously maintained it. Fresh water wetter and Mobil 1 with filter just installed. I raced it three or four weekends last year and won almost every hole shot with this bike. I have not come across a faster SV on the WERA Expert race scene. It is a former WERA NC regional championship bike Formula 2, light twins.

The bike is located in Philadelphia, PA

$3000 obo

A couple of questions:

1. What kind of fuel does this take?

2. How long has it been since the engine was serviced/freshened up and when will the next service be due?

3. Can you talk my wife into letting me buy this? :D

1. I ran it on 93 and it ran great but see #2.

2. About 1 year/1 track day ago. It began to weep at the base gasket of the front cylinder. I sent the motor to Mike Rich up near Scranton, PA: he replaced the base gasket and two of the valves. He felt it should be running on race gas. I have and would be happy to scan the receipt with the specifics.

3. Unlikely..

EDIT: Just realized this thread is 2+ months old. If the bike is still for sale, stock brakes?
Hello Alex--
