I believe it was in Saturday's 3rd session, I could hear a knocking noise coming from the engine. I couldn't get it to duplicate in the paddock but finally figured out the noise only happened in 3rd gear. My thought of a broken gear tooth was confirmed on Sunday's 2nd session when I broke a 2nd tooth in 3rd gear (much louder "bang, bang, bang" and the pit in track marshal even stopped me to say it was very loud coming down the front straight. Needless to say, it ended my day. Oddly enough, my best personal lap came that session with a 1:38.75. Would have been nice to finish the day and likely improved on the laptime. I've already pulled the engine out and started to split the case to pull the transmission out. If it had to happen, it couldn't have been at a better time with at least 4 months of downtime in the off season!
Enjoy!
Bill

And from the looks of it I was doing the passing, just saying
I wish at times I had another bike to switch to say like another 600 that's a 1000 and its a different animal to me I'm no where near as smooth as I should be on it. I've been struggling to get it hauled down and turned. Had some rear tire issues also. I've been so frustrated with it I've resorted to dirt tracking the thing with point and shoot mentality.noobinacan;295046 wrote: dude..you were rolling...and sliding and going in all sideways and what not.
If you're rolling like that you can dangle you leg all you want and it was fun to watch. and that's probably why Steve wanted to see more of it...LOL.
did you switch bikes at all that weekend ?
and that's some comback ride

I raced it at Nola this past weekend first grid up for me in 8 years. Between my tire guy David Hirsch and Thermosman we might have it turning and exiting the corners better now so my slide show is hopefully becoming a thing of the past.
I am certainly no Rossi just doing the best I can to ride an unrideable beast until I get the kinks worked out:dunno:
Yea I've been working with Mike going on ten years now. He actually helped me at Nola this past weekend over the phone even though he is on vacation. I was way out in left field at the trackday on Friday before the race weekend. The bike was still chewing up the rear tire in the strange way it's been doing for the last two outings. We went over a few things and came to the conclusion I had my chain too tight, duh. I mean it was really close but I loosened it even more and the jack hammer rear end disappeared. So did the funky tire wear. Michelin guy kept track of my pressures and was a huge help to me trackside all weekend long.dickiedoo;295149 wrote: That was a lot of fun to watch. Mike is def the guy to hook up the suspension, and you'll have that thing on rials after a few race weekends and suspension tweeks.
I was!! I got to see the dangle at about 7:20 in the video I linked!:adore:roy 826;295031 wrote: That was me glad you were entertained. you should try it sometimes it works pretty good on dirt and pavement.
