are you neurologically 'wired' to track ride?

As a management exercise at work, my boss asked our national staff to complete a Jung typology test and share the results.

i would say my results were about 75% spot-on. Everyone laughed when I read the following portion of the description of my personality type: "ESTP's get great satisfaction from acting on their impulses. Activities involving great power, speed, thrill and risk are attractive to the ESTP. Chronic stifling of these impulses makes the ESTP feel 'dead inside.'"

Now I can legitimately rationalize calling in sick and going to weekday events :D I could "feel dead inside" if I don't!

It said I really need to see a shrink. Then my computer screen flashed and shut off.

I'm so depressed, yet happy. And I really want to get things done, but only when I decide to set time aside. And I talk to my sofa. Because the coffeemaker never responds.

Screw it. I'm going for a ride.

Wow. this was 90% correct. I can't believe it given the way the test is given.
My result was introverted sensing thinking judging (ISTJ).
Worth the time, enjoy!

yeah, I took it multiple times, and my results have been consistent. There were some questions where I was wishy-washy, so I tried to go back through and think about them more, and answer as honestly as possible.

I am also thinking of going through and only answering those questions that I can most definitively put a "yes" or "no" on - anything that i'm not 100% on, I'll just leave blank. I'm curious how that will come out.

I got bored with it and stopped taking the test after about ten questions. Too slow paced for me, i guess that makes me a good track day junkie.

This is how I am wired:

1) First attempt

YOUR TYPE
E S T P
Extraverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving
Strength of the preferences %
11 1 75 11

2) 2nd Attempt

Your Type is
E S T P
Strength of the preferences %
22 1 62 33

IMHO some of the questions are a bit vague and really depend on the interest in question. Are we talking motorcycles, my work, or the kind of work I'd rather do as opposed to what I'm currently doing? Plus some important questions were glaringly absent like "Do you care about image?" Damn straight I do.

Anyway, I'd say the assessment is not too far off. I knew I was highest in the thinking aspect because I have a tendency to overanalyze everything. I also know I've got a short attention span, hence my low score in 'S'. Staying focussed is hard for me. It's easy for me to lose interest in something and move onto something else (a product of my low attention span). You could also say I don't stick around long enough to perfect anything. When something required a big committment I fall out. I also get easily frustrated and many times it's hard for me to think positively.

OTOH, adventure is what makes my life interesting. I prefer to get on my bike and just go riding along a road I've never been on, as opposed to going around on a track.

Plus I tend to be a tad too opinionated, or articulate and I often fail to clue in that people really don't want to hear what I have to say - so they distance themselves from Tigerboy.

If I'm at a track day, it's hard for me to stay in one place. I have to see all the bikes, and meet all the riders and pick their brains to find out why they are so good and validate a way of thinking positively.

For example I'm the kind of guy who will try a couple track days, stay in B, and then say "that's not for me" and drop out because it's too much work to get to 'I' or 'A'.

It also suggests I'm in the wrong line of work.

What is the best profile to have to make the most of track days?

Heck, no one ever wants to here my over explained technical rants! Does that stop me? NO!

Do the painful screams of mercy and partitioning of the Geneva convention waver my steadfast need to torture? I think NOT! :D
