I’m not a big photos person because I already know how terrible my body position is, but you have some interesting angles I haven’t seen at Pitt. It seems like the normal photographers at trackdays always do the same thing.

Another photographer gave me a business card this weekend. It seems like there were a lot of guys out there working. Are WERA race weekends a free for all for photographers versus the single vendor monopoly at trackday weekends? I don’t have anything against the normal vendors; just curious how it works.

I tend to play things by eye and look for angles that I find appealing and show folks at their best. Even if someone isn't putting their knee down, a photo or video can be useful to the individual to see what their body is doing on the bike as they throw it around. I'm also still figuring out the angles I like around the track at Pitt, some of it is access issues while the track is hot.

With race events, media have to request permission from the race organizers, whether it be WERA, ASRA etc. This is to ensure they are complying with the organizations rules and expectations. I'm sure they have an upper limit to the number of people, but I could not tell you what that is. With track days I feel it is partially the same, but I'm guessing working with one is easier.
