Gearing questions...

My new track bike is an 05 GSXR 750. Stock gearing is 17/43. Current gearing is 16/44 (-1/+1). I already know that some top end speed is sacfiifcied for more low end. A few questions...
1. What does the new gearing do for the speedo? Approximately how far off (high or low) is it now?
2. What impact is there to the odometer? Are actual miles higher or lower than indicated?

Thanks in advance.

Ignore the speedo...cover it with tape and don't worry about it.

It will make the odometer read a little high as far as overall mileage goes..but not enough to really matter.

This is a TRACK bike...mileage kind of no longer REALLY matters. When someone buys a track only bike, they know they're buying something that was ridden hard..not babied. But, generally track bikes are maintained MUCH better than a machine maintained by the average owner that only rides his bike on the street.

Forget miles per hour and miles as D Zum said you don't look at any of it on the track. Start keeping track of hours operated and maintain on that basis.
