Can you provide me with the compound codes for the 211's various compunds, (soft, med/hard, etc?) found on the side of the tire? How many "versions" of the 211 are there?

There are 2 versions of the D211:

D211GPA which is made in the USA and the spec tire for the AMA.

D211GP which is made in UK England.

Both are N-Tec construction. The D211GP is often referred to as "a set of N-Tec", but both are the same construction.

To get a full spec sheet for D211GP go here: http://dunlopracing.com/tires-products/d211gp/

So there's nothing on the tire to denote what its compound make-up is?

The reason I ask is for instances such as when you buy take-offs from someone. The original owner may not know the compound.

Rob,
Most of the tires will have both the number code, and often also has "soft", "medium", etc, on the sidewall. Should be able to find the info on the tire when buying take-off's.

yes n-tecs (or 211 gp) will only have a number code indicating what compound it is stamped in the sidewall such as 6675, 7704, 6813 etc.
the gpa's (or 211 gp-a) will have stamped in the sidewall "soft" "med" (or "medium") or "hard" but no numbers relating to compound. see the link i posted to translate the n-tec number's
