Homestead - what to expect?

Gonna try making it to Homestead next month. Never been there. What can I expect to experience?

- Race teams shaking down their 2025 rides?
- A riding group format that splits the "A" group into advanced and experts?
- THIS ONE IS A BIGGIE: Coaches from ChampSchool and N2 offering their services?

Away from the track, are there:
- what are safe/recommended areas to hang out or sight-see?
- any persons or people to avoid or be on the alert for?

Thanks in advance.

I think Homestead is a great track with some technical turns mixed with some high speed turns and the banking is an interesting feature.

Of course I'm totally biased but I think N2 runs it much better than the local club that books the majority of Homestead's track days.

There very well could be MA racers there testing and training like they did last year. I learned a lot from watching Hayden Gillem on his KotB bike. Also, Chris Boy's shop (MotoCorse Performance) and customers are piggy-backing on our weekend. He'll bring some fast riders, too.

@kappy1000 is the most likely Track Day Director to run the weekened. I suspect he will get a feel for speed differentials in A Group and then make a judgment call whether to keep A Group together or split it into two.

Some of the ChampSchool coaches will stay on to ride. Some may already be hired for a private day at Homestead. Best to contact them now if you want to hire one.

We won't be running ATP at Homestead but the N2 Control Riders, as always, will be on hand in Intermediate and Novice group to make observations and provide a hot pit or paddock debrief.

@tdelegram leads N2's new Advanced Group Coaching Program and has made the trip down to Homestead for several years. However, check with him directly to see if he's providing that service at Homestead.

Robert and Peter may cook out for the Saturday social. If they do, I pitch in to provide the beer.

Away from the track, despite living in Florida I'm all thumbs for must-do and must-not-do around Miami. I SCUBA dive a lot so if I have extra time off, I'd run down to Key Largo or up to West Palm Beach or Jupiter to fall off a boat and look at big fishies with teeth.

Thank you for the extra info. Much appreciated!
