laptimes and records for 600cc bikes

Anyone happen to know the lap records at Road Atlanta, Barber and Jennings for a 600?

Easy to find the liter bikes often hold the lap records. But harder to locate those times for the 600 class.

Maybe a better question is what lap times does it take to qualify for AMA ect.

Another thing to consider is that in the AMA, the 1000's have more open rules re:mods. I tend to look at the WERA times, as you can compare 1000 Superstock vs. 600 Superstock. WERA uses the site www.mylaps.com I don't race w/them, I just use the site for personal reference!

Here you can check out 600/C Superstock Expert against 1000/A Superstock Expert at Barber: http://www.mylaps.com/results/showevent.jsp?id=591844

...and again here at Rd. A: C Superstock Expert vs. A Superstock Expert: http://www.mylaps.com/results/showevent.jsp?id=604127

...and again at Jennings: http://www.mylaps.com/results/showevent.jsp?id=597459

Not to thread jack but, how far off is going sub 2min at cmp on a 600rr. I am new so that would be a good goal. In other words is under 2min happening in the b group?

Sub 2 as in what? A 1:50 is what I would consider a B group pace, where a 1:40 and you are more into A group pace. 1:45 is a mid I group pace.

In other words, if you can't pull a 1:40 or faster, you WILL be a back marker in pretty much any 600cc race at CMP.

ron i think your on the low end of your times. I know a lot of the nesba a guys that are cruisin at cmp are cutting 1:41-1:43 but they are on 600's.

All I was asking is, what a good time is in the b group. Nothing to do with racing etc. If anyone in b group is running 2 min or under. Something to compare with. Seems that would be pretty fast in the beginner group.

I realize people ask these questions to get an idea of where they fit in, but the pace of the group depends on who is there that day, weather, etc.

I'm sure there are B riders who can lap in the 1:50 range - but maybe all of them show up on the same day, and maybe all of them stay home. The average lap time for a given group can swing pretty dramatically depending on who's there.
