I took a hiatus for 2011, I'm psyched to do a few TDs this year!
I'm ready to drop on a Leatt STX neck brace. Who else is using these? I'm confused about the initial sizing.

I'm 5' 9.5" and 160lbs with a 40" chest (I wear a 40R dress suit) - which puts me at the L/XL size. I then see all sites insist you take your measurements with your gear on. I wear a Motoport jacket w/ quad armor for the street (read "thick jacket") - which brings my chest to 44" - which now just barely brings me over the border to XXL.
I'm skeptical because with my frame and my appreciation for proper fit, everything in my life falls square in the Medium category, sometimes in the Small department when I'm looking for a snug fit (like my Fieldsheer suit and gloves). I find it unorthodox I am categorized as a "L/XL" in the Leatt world and ridiculous that I could wear a "XXL" with a straight face.
Does anyone with similar dimensions have some input to help me?
