Is this track really opening memorial day this year? If it is I cant wait 2 tracks within the hour!

I am holding my breath.....no no....tried that once before with the Rausch Creek...damn near killed myself!


I really hope this one comes to fruition. We really do NEED another track!

I don't think they've even broke ground yet. I also read a piece where they were to break ground 2012 so, maybe 2015 a wheel will roll.:dunno:

The genie is their site foreman and Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger force is the pit marshall:D

Just saw this on facebook got my hopes up for nothing. we are planning for the 2013 season, hopefully we get through the remainder of the land development process by end of year and break ground in early spring of 2012!

I live 8 miles from the proposed location, and drive by a couple times per week hoping to see something going on. Nothing yet, still just cornfields with a big sign. Same as it was over a year ago.

Believe me, when (and if) something starts to happen, I'll post up pics and progress reports.

BTW, any chances NESBA will run Circuit of the Americas when it opens? http://www.circuitoftheamericas.com/
If nothing else, watching an F1 race in person will be uber-cool.

They are definitely still moving in the right direction. I work for a commercial construction company and the plans are out for bid.

brings up an interesting question though... what about underused existing tracks. I remember as a kid going to LimeRock in CT and watching IMSA Camel GT racing. A quick troll on you tube shows a great track, but armco everywhere (boo hoo) and very scary which is a shame. Check this video for a "drive thru" at a slow pace to get a feel... that turn in the back before the elevation change is totally hairball http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iu5B3cOT5ns&feature=related

anyway, back to point, are there other already existing tracks that can be utilized?

^^ Lime Rock is a great track, small, but great...for Cars! Don't think bike are allowed. It is a great experience in the car though. Haven't been there with the new configurations though
