Yeah, that's exactly what theives do with a wheel lock that doesn't cover the lugnuts. Thieves carry a spare wheel and swap it with your locked wheel. The cable lock you linked to is a great alternative to the boot style that covers the lugnuts because, as I'd mentioned, many trailer wheel hubs stick out pretty far. The cable would prevent what you've described above, by locking the wheel to the trailer. I'm thinking of getting a less expensive wheel "claw" style lock that doesn't cover the hubs, and then just putting on some locking lugnuts. Little cheaper alternative. ;)

They'll get it if they really want it. The idea is to make it more difficult for them to do it quickly.
