Why do you even need two track bikes? Plan on crashing a lot?

I am new to trackdays and my current R6 is more for the street. I don't want to run the risk of possibly damaging it on track. So, I would like to pick up another bike that is set up for the sole purpose of track riding and if it takes some damage then it won't break my heart so bad.

Fair enough, but I've been only on track since 2008 and crashed once. And it was avoiding another rider. It's what you make of it.
