Question about Vortex bar

My right-side controls on my 2004 600rr have a brass nipple on the inside that matched a hole on the stock bar and kept the controls from rotating. The Vortex bar has no such hole (although I admit that I didn't check real well) and the control wouldn't fit correctly on the bar so I drilled a little hole (not all the way through).

Just wondering what others do and have done.

Well, you could cut off the nipple, then use a lot of electrical tape to make sure it doesn't move on you, like the guy I bought my bike from, but its just so much nicer if you drill the hole! Oh, I forgot, you'll need a new throttle housing with the nipple intact when the former BS won't pass tech.

Grind the nubs down leaving about 1/32" - 1/16" so it will still pinch the clip-on tube and hold tightly. Much easier and makes replacement quick and simple.

It did budge. Please excuse my attempt at sarcasm after a crappy day. Drilling is definately the way to go.
