Racesuit tailoring

I'm looking for recommendations for leathers tailoring in the dmv area. History on the forum shows Spyder Leather Works and Lizzy Leathers were recommended but both seem to be closed/otherwise not contactable.

Sage tailoring is commonly at events. The guys that run historic do tailoring and repairs iirc. So does Anthony's. Also there's an old guy with an iconic name that is escaping me at the moment that is the gold standard.

edit; Barnacle Bill! I kept thinking davy jones but knew that wasn't correct.

Thanks for the replies y'all! I'd also like to know what the process is like working with the tailors that show up to a trackday. Do they take your shit and ship it back to you afterwards? Or can they do simple alterations/foxes on site?

The Sage guy has replaced a zipper on my suit and fixed my gloves during a weekend. But I would email him ahead of time if you know you need something done that weekend. His trackside schedule is on his website. That’s how I coordinated with him for getting measured for a custom suit.

Makes sense, thanks so much for the info!

I’ve used Sage several times in the past. Always a great experience at reasonable prices. Once on-site at the track they hemmed my sleeves and replaced a zipper overnight. I dropped the suit off after my last session and picked them up before the riders meeting the next morning. The other time I shipped the suit to them. Again the price was reasonable and the turn around time was less than 2 weeks (off season).

Sage was on-site and fixed up my suit after a low-side at Barber last month tore a hole in the leg. He didn't have time to get it fixed that weekend because he had some other jobs already queued up, but he got it fixed up and since he had it already, I had him wash/condition the suit and he shipped it back to me, all at a reasonable price.

Grover and his wife at Sage Tailoring do Excellent work! I highly recommend them! I don;t know if Sherry at Lizzy Leather is still doing this work, but she also does excellent work too!

What company had the guy with the Borg over the head sunglasses? Was it one of these? Are they another option? I've always just done my own repairs.
