Yeah, some small amount of slop is normal. It gives you a little easier time loading your bike and makes fitting all the parts easy. I don't know how loose my axle pins are, but the bike hardly moves at all. There is no reason to secure the front end. Unless maybe you're doing a lot of hauling...

According to the label with the weight ratings, it weighs 350 lbs. GVWR is supposed to be no more than 2000 lbs. On a flat surface like my driveway or a paddock, it is very easy to move around. At $1/lb. it's a steal! :D
