Frame slider/Chassis protector useful mod?

I lowsided my ninja at VIR and aside from a bent rear brake lever there was absolutely no evidence that it had been down at all. I'd say yes, crash protectors are definitely worth it.

If I can find one that doesn't require cowling modification I will buy it. Such a creature exist for the VFR?

Well useful or not the track bike I bought has them so there you go. Will put on VFR if I can do w/o cutting into cowling.

I would say sliders are a must. IMO yoyodyne's Euro Racing slider are the best by far. they are more of a mushroom shape which is suppose to make them less likely to catch in the grass. Also you can screw off the slider and screw on tie down hooks which are much easier to use than the bars to attach tie downs to. you'll have to call yoyodyne to check if they have them for your bike.
