Mid Ohio
What a great track, and an awesome trackday. Monday was so smoothly run, it was like watching a well oiled machine in motion.
Drove out from Brooklyn Sunday, picked up Sharad in Kent, OH, and we high-tailed it to Mid-Ohio. Monday was cool (okay, cold) in the am, but dry. Track has some sealant in many spots, which is slick when cold. I found it to be more of a squirm than a slide when the bike moved, but it was a little wake up call, if you didn't have enough caffeine. By 3rd session, the track was heating up, and the grip really came back.
The track has some great turns - kind of like Beaverun, but longer, more turns, more elevation, more interesting. Definitely a new favorite. Didn't take too long to learn the turns, then ramp up the speed a bit. Caught some good video, and just has a super day. NESBA crew were outstanding - all sessions started on time, and even though the event was incredibly full, traffic wasn't too bad (maybe I was just too slow to catch anyone...).
Tuesday was a sh*tshow...rain, rain and more rain. When the morning briefing includes statements like "avoid the rivers in turn 4, 7 and 11", you know you should just load up and go home, which is what most people did. We'll see what happens with credits. NESBA always seems to do the right thing, when possible
Anyway, a great time, new track to lust after again...
