With thoughts to do a superbike build on my 2009 ZX6R, I tossed around a few ideas for reliability and a solid 125+ hp. After speaking with KWS in Charleston, SC, I decided to pick up a friends 636 motor that came out of his wrecked 2014 ZX6R with a mere 56 miles on it.
I will be using the 09 airbox, 09 harness, injectors and Throttle bodies. For the ECU, I am using a Kawi Kit ECU with a Dynojet quickshifter.
KWS will put a little love in the bike with tuning, a little shave of the head, adjust the cams and a thinner gasket.
Since the motor is essentially the same the swap should be fairly straight forward. Since I am using the 09 harness, no need to worry about the Traction Control. For the gearing internally, I am debating about pulling the clutch and transmission from the 09 since I actually like the slipper better in the 09 over the 13.
