+1 for these! I bought a pair in the Summer for a spare (had 2 pairs already) and will be using them next season. I just retired a pair that had survived hitting the ground 3 times and still going strong.

If you don't want to do it yourself, I would suggest checking with your local race organization. Often there is an individual or shop that will wire all necessary parts to make your bike "legal". Locally it can usually be done for about $100. Of course, for NESBA, you don't need as much wired...

I would say most trailer/truck their bike, but each track day I've done, there are usually one or two that ride in. Today we're at PIR (Portland, OR) and there is a guy on an SV650 that rode it...and just rode it out to get lunch! :p

Lap timers are for looking at your times when you pit, not for looking down at during your riding. No different than looking at your speedo while you're riding. You want your eyes on the track!

I would say at most if not all NESBA events there should be a transmitter set up.
